MY DSP ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, including sensitive information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
The information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details such as your name, phone number and email address.
- Enquiry details you choose to share, including who you are enquiring for and the support you are looking for.
- Sensitive information, including health or disability information, where it is relevant to providing support. We only collect this with your consent or where permitted by law.
- Website information, such as basic analytics about how the site is used (see "Cookies and analytics" below).
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you, for example when you:
- Submit an enquiry through our website form;
- Call or email us;
- Meet with us or our team;
- Are referred to us by a support coordinator, family member or nominee (with appropriate consent).
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and discuss whether we are the right fit;
- Provide and coordinate disability supports;
- Communicate with you, your family or your support coordinator;
- Meet our obligations as a registered NDIS provider;
- Improve our services and our website.
Consent and sensitive information
Because we provide disability support, we sometimes need to handle sensitive information such as health or disability details. We only collect and use this information with your consent, or where we are required or permitted to by law. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We may share it only where necessary, for example with:
- Our own support team, so they can provide your supports;
- The NDIS or other government bodies, where required;
- Service providers who help us operate, such as our website form provider and email and analytics providers, who are bound to protect your information;
- Others where you have given consent, or where required or permitted by law.
How we store and protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure storage and limiting access to those who need it. We keep information only for as long as we need it or are required to keep it.
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies and basic analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not use them to identify you personally.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. We will respond within a reasonable time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Making a complaint
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
