What is Supported Independent Living?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is funded support with everyday tasks in your home, so you can live as independently as possible. It usually means living in a shared home with support available day and night, though it can also be one-to-one.
At MY DSP, SIL is never one-size-fits-all. We start with the person, their routines, goals and the way they like to live, and build consistent support around them, in a home that genuinely feels like theirs. SIL is funded through the NDIS, so there are no out-of-pocket prices, just a conversation about what the person needs.

Why MY DSP
What makes our SIL different
The things families and coordinators tell us matter most, and that we build into every home.
-
Small homes, high staff ratios
Our homes are deliberately small and well-staffed, so support is calm, consistent and never rushed.
-
Confident with complex needs
We support people with complex and high support needs that some other providers turn away.
-
Consistent, vetted teams
The same familiar faces over time, so trust, routine and real relationships can grow.
-
Families kept close
Clear, regular communication with families, nominees and support coordinators.
Life here
What life looks like in a MY DSP home
-
A real home
Comfortable, accessible houses in ordinary, quiet neighbourhoods, close to shops, transport and community. Never an institution.
-
Familiar faces
Consistent, vetted support workers who get to know each person well, so trust and routine can grow over time.
-
Your own routine
Wake, eat, work, study, relax and socialise on your own terms. Support fits around the person, not the other way around.
-
Connected to community
Support to stay involved in the people, places and activities that matter to you.
How it works
How moving into a SIL home works
Four calm, pressure-free steps, with a real person to talk to at every stage.

Make an enquiry
Tell us about the person and the support they’re looking for, by phone or the enquiry form. It only takes a minute to start.
- 2
Visit and meet us
Come and see a home, meet the team and ask anything. We’ll talk honestly about whether we’re the right fit.
- 3
Plan and match
We build a support plan around the person and, for shared homes, take real care matching compatible housemates.
- 4
Move in, supported
We settle the person in gently and stay in close contact with family and support coordinators throughout.

Questions & answers
Supported Independent Living: your questions answered
Straight answers to the questions families and coordinators ask us about SIL.
What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is help with everyday tasks in your home, funded through the NDIS, so you can live as independently as possible. It can be in a shared home or on your own, with support scheduled around your needs.
Who funds Supported Independent Living?
SIL is funded through your NDIS plan, so there are no out-of-pocket prices to quote. We are happy to talk through how SIL is funded under your plan, with no pressure and no obligation.
Do you have SIL vacancies right now?
Vacancies change regularly. The quickest way to find out is to call (03) 5998 5759 or make an enquiry, and we will tell you honestly what is currently available and whether it is a good match.
Can I choose who I live with?
Yes. Compatibility matters enormously to how a home feels, so we take time to match housemates thoughtfully, or to support someone living on their own if that suits them better.
What does a typical day look like?
Whatever the person chooses. Support fits around each person’s own routine, from morning and evening care to cooking, appointments, work, study and getting out into the community.
